Is this name too unusual for a baby boy?

Jasper Jack.

We LOVE this name but are concerned that it is too unusual. I find Jasper very sweet and boyish, though it is rather uncommon.

Thoughts? Thanks!

Is this name too unusual for a baby boy?
i usually don't go for alliteration with names... i do think this one is cute... although jasper reminds me of the bad guy in 101 dalmations
Reply:I'm expecting too and we're considering Jasper as well. I love it and was searching to see if there was any reason not to use it and stumbled on your post. The only thing I have come across is that it can be a popular pet name, but so are Chloe and a bunch of other very popular names for children. I want something traditional but not overused or stuffy and I think it's great. We, too, want a forceful middle name to counter the softness of the first name but have not settled on it yet. Good luck!
Reply:Little known fact about the name: Jasper is the name of one of the three Wise Men who visited Jesus.

I like the name Jasper but I'm not so sure of combing in with Jack. To my ear that combination sounds almost 'hilbilly-ish".
Reply:I find Jasper nice. It is indeed soft and sweet. But personally I don't like it combined with Jack, which I find strong and harsh in comparison. Plus the 2 Js.

Are there any other middle names you've considered?
Reply:I love it, I have actually heard something pretty close to that on TV. His name is Jasper Jacks. He is on a soap opera called General Hospital. Love it.
Reply:Jasper is nice, but I don't think it sounds right with Jack. (Unless you plan to call him J.J.) The two 'short a' sounds together don't flow well. How about Jasper Mark? Or Jasper Owen?
Reply:That's the name of Ingo Radmache (sp) character on General Hospital. So its not unusual, and any body that picks on him watches soaps, he can bring that to their attention.
Reply:if you like it you dont need someone to tell you what they think. i think its a sweet unique name and has a special ring to it
Reply:if jack is his middle name then its fine. jasper is a good name. but be prepared. there's a ghost named jasper (jasper and wendy) your kid could be teased...
Reply:I like it, just because it reminds me of the guy off general hospital who name is Jasper Jack
Reply:Jasper is a great masculine name

Reply:Well, I LOVE the name Jasper, but I don't think Jack really sounds that great.
Reply:the only time i think ive ever heard the name jasper was when i watched 101 dalmations...but if you like it then use it!
Reply:I think of Jasper as a dog's name...but i could get used to it. It's not terrible.
Reply:I thik it is cute. Maybe his friends in school will call him JJ! ^___^
