my name arika (pronounce ahreka) it's from an Australian Aboriginal dialect meaning blue water lily.





My parents chose it because they felt I was as rare as a blue water lily.





In addition they also chose 3 other names for me - Billi, Biara and Alec.





Biara means The New Moon. Billi after my dad bill and Alec after my grandfather.





And then hiphenated my surname so my initials spell BABA EGG.





My mum figures that's a "sign" because the religion she practices knows god as "baba" so apparently according to her I am Baba's Egg.
Reply:When I was born my name was unusual and I always had to spell my name , because everyone mispelled it.. Now days Lynda is very common and my middle name is Rae. so people would spell it Linda Ray. To this day I still spell it for people.. force of habit...

Reply:My first two initials are AM,Amanda Marie, and and one of my brothers' initials are MAP,MA without P, and another one is JP,JDP with his middle name. A friend of mine is DC,DPC with middle name. We always teased my younger sister that if she married a man whose last name starts with N and we put all of her initials together,including maiden name, we would get ESPN.

My sister's name is Magdalene, which is pretty unusual. I like both our names though!

my name was made famous by a book written in the 1700's. i was suppose to be named rachel but my mom saw my name on the credits of a movie while she was pregnant and decided on that.





now i always look in the credits for my name, and not once have i found it!
