I need an unusual but pretty name for a baby girl?

My wife and I are up in the air regarding a name for our baby girl. We have about 4 months to decide, but would prefer to get it figured out now. We both have different tastes in baby names. She is a little more traditional than I am. We are looking for something unique but not too off the wall. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please include the origin and meaning if you can.

It's the feminine version of Alex, and a very pretty name. Alexander means "protector of men" so it has a nice root meaning.

The nicknames for it are cute for a little girl as well, "Lexi" "Lex" etc.
