My husband wants to name our baby an unusual name but I dont like the choices. What do you think?

He likes the names T-bone and Caesar. He thinks they are tough names for a boy

I prefer more normal names like Roger, Steven Mathew

My husband wants to name our baby an unusual name but I dont like the choices. What do you think?
What about T. Boone? He's very rich and allegedly a super-smart business man. I don't know what the "T" stands for but it could be Thomas or any other "normal" name. That way your son has options later on.
Reply:T-bone is horrible! Caesar is okay, but I can see why you don't like it. From your list, I like Steven and Matthew (not so fond of Roger), but I do find them to be a bit common -- if your husband wants an unusual name, I can see why he doesn't like them.

You guys need to compromise. Find a masculine-sounding name that's not too common. Some ideas:

Consider one-syllable names. Those sound tough:

Grant

Pierce

Brent

Cade

Rex

Vaughn

Vance

Chase

Clay

Rhys/Reece

Consider names of rulers. :

Julius

Maximilian

Alexander

Hadrian

Nicholas

Consider more unusual two- or three-syllable choices:

Miles (means "soldier")

Andre (means "man or warrior")

Lachlan (means "warrior from the Land of Lochs")

Bryant (means "noble, strong")

Garrison (means "strong")

Leo (means "lion")

Ryker (means "strong power")

Good luck, and I hope this helps!
Reply:DO NOT, I repeat, do not let him name your baby T-bone or Ceasar. I mean, common sense! This is a baby, not a steak or a salad! lol

I like Roger but if your husband is determined with the tough names, these are a few tough, yet normal names:

Alexander (I'm thinking of Alexander the Great)

Austin

Brody/Brady

Carter

Clint (lol, clint eastwood)

Drake

youll see the names if you scroll down!

Hope I helped! :D
Reply:Funny! I don't like them either but you can find similar more acceptable names. My friend named her son Augustus and I knew a guy named Kong Lee. I like that name but your kid's probably not Chinese.

Reply:I dont think your husband wants a baby, sounds like he wants a nice dinner! T bone steak and caesar salad. yum!

Anyways, Roger Steven and Matthew are very nice names. They are pretty stron and masculine. Perhaps if your husband like T bone, that can be his father-son nickname for him. You can name the baby Tyler, or Tony (Anthony) or Thomas. Other strong names are Alexander, Gregory, Jackson, Maxwell
Reply:T-bone is a dog the show and books of Clifford

Caesar, At least it's name of a person

I would tell your husband they are great dog names, not little boys names

You both need to love the first name

here are some unusual names you may like

River

Rio

Cooper

Renzo

Mycah

Bowie

Axel

Zevi

Flynn

Bennett

Stone or Stonewall

Reed

Shane

Hawke

Talon

Phoenix

Seaton

Zayne

Sterling

Some of the names I like, some are bad, believe it or not they are all listed as boys names

I like Sterling, River, Cooper, Zayne, unusual but not strange
Reply:T-bone? T-BONE? No, please don't let him do that!!! Personally, I do prefer slightly more unusual names. I believe a name is a part of your personality, and if your name is common, or popular, then whats gonna make u stand out from the crowd? i know several Stevens, and lots of Matthews too. I don't know any Rogers tho, but kids are cruel, and he might get bullied at school is he called Roger - cos the other kids might put sexual meanings to it.

There are dozens of baby name websites. Go thro them, and I'm sure there must be a few you both like.

eg
Reply:If your husband is truly set on T-bone (I honestly can't believe anyone would even suggest this unless they were drunk or drugged up) maybe name him something that starts with a T :

Thomas, Tyler, Timothy, Tanner, Tierney, Trenton, Todd, then if he really can't get over this ridiculous T-bone thing it can b daddy's nickname for his little boy. Or maybe Christopher or Christian.

you could try jokingly reasoning with him by also being ridiculous for example If you want our first sons name to be T-bone, then I would really like a daughter named... (pick somehting he would definitely say no to like Princess as the first name, or some really really ugly name-or your mother's name- if he doesn't love his inlaws), or pick a really bad name for a boy and say that will be the next son's name You could also try something like If we name him T-bone he is calling me Sexy Momma and you Popeye. anyway, I think that when your husband sees that beautiful little boy, he won't like the name T-bone anymore, so make a list of names you like and have them ready for when he is ready to be serious.
Reply:T-Bone and Caesar are perfect for a puppy -- but not so much for a human baby. The names you chose are classic -- his are the opposite extreme. Perhaps you can meet in the middle and look at some of the more popular names today -- there's tons of websites and baby books available.
Reply:Oh my god you cant call a baby T-bone, LOL. I dont like any of those names, his are too extreme and yours are too old and boring for a child being bought up in todays world.

Good luck and best wishes xxx
Reply:T-bone? Seriously? you let this man impregnate you?

T-bone will not look so tough when he turns out skinny and gets his *** kicked for being named "T-bone".

Caesar is a real name, but I don't know how it'll go over these days.

Do your husband a favor and buy him a goddamn bulldog to name instead of a child.
Reply:T-bone and Ceaser... is your husband trying to get him bullied ?

if you want oringinal and rare names, try...

JENSEN after the car or JENSON after the racedriver.

i also like CONNOR and MATTHEW and FREDDIE.

rare names are very nice but within reason! try welsh or irish names as they are very nice and original.

i am the same and want my child to have an original name but that is crazy !!

good luck !! x
Reply:You must be kidding about T-Bone! Thats a dogs name. If he wants unusual names I like Kaiser, Javier and Alejandro.

I like James, Tyler, Ryan, Matthew, Callum, Oliver and Lucas which are more normal names. :D

Good luck on choosing a name with your husband. :D
Reply:How about suggesting the name BLADE? Its a nice name and it sounds tough. I'm 6 months pregnant with baby girl #3 and if we would have had a boy we would have named him "Johnney Blade" T-bone reminds me of a steak. Lol probley because I've been craving one all week :-p

Well good luck
Reply:T-Bone might work as a nickname or a rapper name, but I have never heard that as a name.

I have known Hispanic males named Caesar or Cesar.

Keep looking. Surely you can find something that both of you will approve of---and then let him have his special pet name or nickname.
Reply:awwwww

poor baby would be bullyed if he was called T-bone or Caesar.

A name can change his future - he wont get a job if he is called one of them

I'm not too keen on your names either apart from mathew because he could be called matt

discuss what i said with him and try and think if a name that unusual but not too unusual so he wont be bullied.

good luck x
Reply:T-BONE???????? THAT IS JUST STRANGE!!!! NO WAY SHOULD U NAME YOUR KID THAT. HE WILL BE A DORK FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE! and what about when he's in his 20's going on a job interview to a prestigious company? do you think any one would hire a person named T-BONE???

caesar is okay.... better than t-bone. i like your choices better than his
Reply:I'm sure that your husband is just kidding.

He doesn't really want to name his child T-bone.

Just say maybe and not even worry about it. If you keep bringing it up, it'll just make him want to tease you more, and you guys will just end up arguing and fighting over a joke.
Reply:I wouldn't name my child T-bone, but if you name him Thomas, or Timothy or something with a T, then he can call him T-bone as a nickname. Caesar is ok, but not something I would use. My favorite name out of those would be Steven Mathew.
Reply:Lol, okay I have never heard of those names being used today. I think the only one you could get away with is Caesar and that's as a boy's name. Try using your likes for the first name and his for the middle name. Best of luck! : )
Reply:You should find a middle ground.

T-Bone is ridiclious and I automaticly picture an old man when i hear the name Rodger. It dosent need to be so classic or crazy. Heres some suggestions:

Ayden

Braydon

Brennin

Brice

Caileb

Cole

Ethan

Jake

Kelan

Logan

Lucas

Mason

Nathan

Preston

Parker

Ryan

Ricky

Wyatt

Zach

Good Luck(:
Reply:make him listen to " a boy named sue" preferably the utube version set in prison. that will change his mind about it. we had a hard time trying to pick too, there was always someone a name reminded me or my wife of...bottom line, agree the name to suit you both.
Reply:They sound more like names for a dog, don,t let him have his way, what is your husbands name,I bet he hasn,t had to go through life as a laughing stock.Stick to your own choice and give the boy some respect.
Reply:T-bone , Caesar and Roger are all awful and he will get picked on.

Steven is also not nice and old fashioned, Matthew is Ok.

Some cool names for boys are Josh, Joshua, Jack, Ellis, Joe, Reece, Reiss, Kai,Luke and Ethan.
Reply:Your choices are the best, I think he is joking. Remind him that your child could be stuck with a stupid name for life and would more than likely resent him for it Generally people who choose unusual names think they are being original when really they are just posers...
Reply:wow your hubby sounds like he's naming a dog!! I don't like Roger, but the other is good. And tell your hubby you're the one carrying the child for 9 months if he can't come up with a name you like as well you'll choose one by yourself!
Reply:if you dont like those names, try to think of a balance, kind of normal, and kind of unusual, How about for starters, you could name your kid Cytoplasm.

That is the liquid part of most cells
Reply:T-bone? Is he kidding? I mean who would wanr to be named T-BONE? I think he should jut leave you to do the naming on this one. Or you can find an unusal name that isn't to weird like Emmet, Gavin, ect.
Reply:Seriously? Is he ok? Maybe your pregnancy is causing hormonal imbalances in him too! lol

Just go with what's right and proper, If he wants to name the child t-bone then you can name the son Tyler and he can nickname him T-bone.
Reply:no offense, but do you really want your son to be named after steak or salad? :) i think you should try to convince him more and more until he sees it your way. if he wins, that kid's gonna get bullied. :)
Reply:I think Ceasar is a nice name, but not T-bone. If you really do not like those names, I would continue looking for baby names until you can agree on something. Good luck!
