What's the most unusual name you've ever heard?

Girls or boys... preferably names of people you actually know.

What's the most unusual name you've ever heard?
Well I like the names Iekeliene (pr. i-ka-lina), Phaedra, Wilde, Eleven, Zelda, Poesy, Bathsheba, Morvern Callar, January James, Vladimir (or Vlada for a girl), Dashiell, Ignatius and Balthazar.

But if I ever had children I would call my daughter Bacall and my son Bogart after Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart.

I think all of these names are pretty unusual.

Oh yeah I almost forgot - my teacher knew a guy who legally changed his name to Fungus of the Valley. And another one of my teachers knew a person who called their son Puck.

And for the grand finale my friends parents worked in a mental hospital and a patient there named their child Henderson Bus-Stop. And if you lived where I lived you would know that Henderson is a pretty horrible place, yet alone having the infamous Bus-Stop added to it.
Reply:Tej. (Pronounced like hedge). I know its a traditional Indian name, and they were Indian and everything, but I can imagine the teasing on the playground. His brother's name is Rama. (I actually dated Rama for awhile, and he kept having to remind me how to say his last name. Long and very weird spelling.)

Weirdest celebrity kid's name: take your pick. you've got Apple and Banjo and Blanket and, of course, Dweezil. Along with Frank Zappa's other kid, Moon Unit.

Gilmore Girls scene:

Lane: Hey, I wonder if Blanket ever met Tom and Katie's baby, Pillow.

Rory: Yeah, that would be a perfect playdate.

Lane: Yeah, when it's naptime they'd be set.

Rory: And then they could invite Gwyneth's Apple over afterwards for a little snack.

Lane: And Banjo, Rachel Griffith's baby, could play for them.

Rory: And then they could all jump into Mia Farrow's "Satchel", and make fun of, umm...

Lane: Oh, Pilot Inspektor Lee.

Reply:Margot isn't weird! It is a gorgeous french name, very feminine and pretty. Love it. I love the spelling Margaux too. :)

But then again I tend to like unusual names.

I guess the worst are obviously the celebrity names and the ones on the news. People already beat me to Pilot Inspektor and Talula-does-the-hula-from-hawaii.
Reply:well i dunno about this one i dont wanna call someone's name unusual cuz i know if someone said that about my name that would make me feel pretty sad so i dont wanna say anything

my name is not common, Farah, and sometimes people mispronounce it so i know what its like so i dont want to call anyone's name unusual

i think every name was chosen out of good thought by the parents

im not trying to be mean by the way im just saying :)

Thanks Margot for the name complement I like urs too :) and sorry if i was being mean it was just my opinion :)
Reply:Puck's not weird - its literature rich.

Weird is calling your daughter Tallulah-Does-The-Hula-From-Hawaii. I am not kidding, this is a real name. The child was removed from the custody of the parents that named her very soon after.

Others include Number 16 Bus Shelter, Moon Unit, and twins named Fish and Chips.

My friend also has a cousin with the middle name Dragon Slayer.

Royce (a boy I went to school with. One night at a night club, my girlfriend met him and she rolled her eyes, saying to me "He says his name is "Royce!" I told her "It is!" LOL)
Reply:There is a little girl that goes to school with my cousin and her name is Dasani, like the brand of water. And there is also a college football player, who I believe plays for Illinois, named Juice Williams.
Reply:Winter, Meadow, Secia, Saige, and October are pretty unusual but I have to admit I really like them!
Reply:Huckleberry Pianotuner

No, I did not make that up, and yes, that's a man I've actually met in real life.
