My daughters name is Monique (original when she was born) and now she is having a girl and wants something original. She liked the name Tyler if it was gonna be a boy but we're getting a girl so she has adapted it and the Rhianne bit is the name the dad likes so they are thinking of double-barrelling it
What do people think of the name Tyla-Rhianne? My daughter is expecting and wants an unusual name?
Tyla is Ok, I like Kyla better though. Rhianne would go with either.
Reply:Why couldnt Rhianne be the middle name? I dont like the whole hyphne thing, plus the two names dont flow together well enough to make it one name... I like the name as two seperate names... Also why couldnt she use Tyler for a girl too? I think it is very cute, and boys names for girls are really in right now...
Reply:i like it, i also like tylinn!
Reply:Cute, different and it works.
Reply:It may sound pretty but going through life I don't know how well thats going to go.
Keep in mind that teachers are going to mis pronounce it, people reading a resume may be turned off and it sounds a bit like something out of "awkward African American name" joke...
It's like naming a kid Candy or Porsha, you are sort of setting them up for life.
Reply:I love it!
Sounds beautiful!
Reply:pretty name, unusual without being too OTT
good luck with the new baby
Reply:It's a lot prettier without the hyphen. Tayla Rhiannon is nice too. :-)
Reply:Very pretty
Reply:cute but I would drop the hyphen
Reply:Tyla sounds like someone with a strong NY accent is trying to say Tyler.
Reply:Congrats to Grandma x Sorry bout this, like Rhianne (prefer Rhiannon) hate Tyla, sounds like someone who mends roofs or fixes bathrooms.
Reply:i love it !!
Reply:I agree with Dalice... It's been proven that when people send in resumes for job openings they DO get judged by their name and I believe such an odd name would certainly hurt their chances of getting ahead even if they are wonderfully qualified. I know I'm going to get lots of thumbs downs here but... you asked for opinions so don't get your feelings hurt when people don't always agree.
Reply:Hideous on all counts.
rhiannon is nice. Ty-anything is vile, hyphens are stupid. Poor kid, it has my sympathy
Reply:I quite like Tyla.
Reply:I think the name is so beautiful. Really unique yet not ridiculous like some can be. I say go for it. Love the name Monique too. x
Reply:I don't like either name. I think Kyla is a pretty name...Kyla Raine would be my choice for something similar.
Reply:It seems desperately contrived to me. Why doesn't she resurrect something old and pretty, that could still be unusual? Tilly's similar but different for instance - you could make it Tilly-Rose? Just my opinion.....
Reply:To be honest, I don't like it. I think Tyler would be a great name for a girl, though.
Reply:i like the name but not as a double barrell name.
i would have it as 1st name Tyla and middle name Rhianne.
good luck and congratulations to your daughter and you nan.
E x
Reply:This name is going to be a big burden.
The hyphen is just an extra unkind twist.
Reply:A misspelt surname and a hyphen. Very downmarket.
Why not Rhianna or Rhiannon?
Reply:I absolutely love it. Definatley unique but very very pretty. One of the prettiest I have heard.
Reply:Thats nice. Its unusual and really cute
Reply:I like the name also try Tula-RyAnn
Reply:Tia Rhyianne
Tara Rhinane
Reply:It's cute but I would suggest not using the hyphen. Just use the two names with a space between them.
Reply:I like it...sounds gud
Reply:Why do people always want to give their children 'unusual' names. Give the poor kid a break and call it something sensible.
Reply:Honestly? It's not a success name. It's just not. I am not a fan of handicapping kids with names that could potentially hold them back in the classroom or in their careers.
