Unusual name I heard for the first time today and like a lot?

The name was Carme.


It was pronounced CAR-MAY


Her middle name was another one I haven't heard of before - Luque I believe it was pronounced Luke.





What do you think of Carme Luque?

Reply:Unique is cute now, but it can be hard on your kid when she's grown. You may want to think about how she will have to handle all the questions about pronounciation and spelling for her entire life rather than how impressed your friends are for the first month after her birth.

Carmen might be cuter for a girl, but I don't like Carme... sounds like a make-up brand.

Reply:The pronunciation is interesting, but I think I'd tweak the spelling to make it look more "complete". Carmey, Carmay, Carmey.......something along those lines. Luque reminds me of torque, or some sort of mechanical sound, so I am not too keen with it.

Luque is fine in the middle spot, but I'm not wild about it, either.
