If you have an uncommon or unusual name, how do you like it?

I`ve asked people that I know with unusual names and they all say they like it. So what how do you all feel about your names. Are they a blessing or a curse?

If you have an uncommon or unusual name, how do you like it?
A curse when young because other children with "normal" names are relentless in teasing. As one matures and gets older, an unusual name is more appreciated because people tend to appreciate something unique about themselves.
Reply:The problem with this question is, not all of us have American or Canadian names like Mary or David whatever. Every immigrant's name is unusual. 99.9% cant even pronounce it.
Reply:I like my name

my name is uncommon where I live, but where I come from it's very popular.
Reply:I love my name people say its so romantic or it sounds hardcore and not a lot of black guys have the name Brock
Reply:I love my name. Its not very popluar at all. I only know one other person with my name.
Reply:I dunno how really uncommon my name is but I do know that I only know two other people with it, my aunt being one and a friend the other. That name would be Virginia, being named after a state has caused years of being called every other state there is and weird things people make up with it... the song Meet Virginia is played with a lot as are pronuciations like that of the female anatomy. But either way I love my name and would never wish to be called anything else.
Reply:I like my name, Tara. But the only problem is that people misspronounce it, like "Tera".

My name is pronounced just like "Tara"or "Taura".

But other than that, I love my name since it fits me well.
Reply:Indigo is quite an unusual name, and actually it has been a blessing. It fits me, better than any alternate name I have yet come up with.
Reply:I have the opposite issue. My name, Christina, is so common I had at least 3 in every class I was ever in and now, in the work place, it is worse. Not only do I work with 4 (yes 4!) Christina's, lots of our clients have the same name. Confusing!!! I just ended up using my last name as a nickname anyway so I might as well have one of the goofball names that are popular today.
Reply:to tell you the truth its a double edge sword. As a child i got called all sorts of names since the president was Ronald Reagan. now as an adult I wouldn't change it for the world. It's a total blessing to be unique. If i have children (and i hope to soon) i will give them a unique name. hope this helps and good luck pickin a name.
Reply:My name is Astrida. It is not a common name here in Aus. I haven't heard of any other person with my name yet. It is a scandinavian name. It was sometimes annoying growing up as all the personalised things had every name but mine, or so it would seem. I do like my name and have never disliked it.
